story

As you have possibly already heard, we have entered a new season at Youth for Christ! We have a new Interim Executive Director, a new Darke County Central Ministry Director and a new Preble County Ministry Director. Here’s a little bit about each one:

Meet Erin

ErinHello! I’m Erin Ayette. I am married to Alan Ayette and we have four children, Alia, Micah, Lydia and Zoe. Alia and Micah are in college and Lydia and Zoe are in High School and Jr. High at Tri-Village local schools. I was born and raised in Darke County and other than attending Toccoa Falls Bible College in Georgia, I have lived in Darke County all of my life.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministry and Christian Education with a minor in Counseling. I have been involved in youth ministry ever since I surrendered my life to JesusAyettes my Sophomore year of High School. I sensed a calling to full time ministry during my Junior year of High School. After graduating from college I worked for Darke County Youth for Christ for four years. At the end of four years, Alan and I were ready to start a family and I wanted to be a stay at home mom. I continued to stay active in youth ministry in our church as well as volunteered some with Youth for Christ. I have also been a house painter, an administrative assistant, a public speaker for the Pregnancy Center in Darke County, a substitute teacher and teacher for Week Day Christian Education. And currently, it has been an honor to serve as Interim Executive Director for YFCMV for the past
couple of months.

When I’m not working, I am usually taking care of family needs. I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking. I also enjoy projects that include creativity and organization. I participate in Bible Study Fellowship, which is an important part of my spiritual growth. I also enjoy spending time helping and encouraging others.

I look forward to the opportunity to help Youth for Christ in this exciting season!

Meet Matt

MattHello! My name is Matt Auker and I am so thrilled to be the new Darke County Central Ministry Director for YFC! I live in Greenville, Ohio with my wife Austie and our two girls. I am a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, with plans to go back this January to pursue my Master’s in Pastoral Counseling.

My previous ministry position was at EUM Church working full time as their Youth DirectorAukers for over six years. It was an incredible experience, and I am deeply indebted to God for the opportunity. While my position has changed at the church, my wife and I are still an active part of the EUM community as we prepare to lead a mission trip with students and parents next summer. Beyond ministry activities, I enjoy getting outdoors for hiking, riding bikes with my family, and playing disc golf. My friends may tell you I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to comics, sci-fi, and board games. I also enjoy meeting with people over coffee or tea.

I’m looking forward to working with our young people here in Darke County. Hope to see you around our community!

Meet Jake

JakeHi, I’m Jake Robinson. My family and I are extremely excited and honored for me to take on the role as Preble County Ministries Director. Together, we love to serve the local community and spread the gospel.

I’m a nearly lifelong Christian and love studying Scripture and the ancient cultures that it contains. My yearly goal is to read the Bible from cover to cover twice and I love the fact that I still uncover new truths each time I go through it. This helps keep my mind sharp and allows me to efficiently evangelize outside the walls of a church on a regular basis.

My family is paramount to my success as a minister. Without the support andRobinsons encouragement of my wife Michele, I would not be able to do a fraction of what I do. Together we have five children ranging in ages from 15 to five. We love those kids and do our best to include them in as many ministry activities as possible.

As for hobbies, I collect Bibles and have an extensive library of study materials that I love to spend time reading. I also love to BBQ and consider Jake’s BBQ Chicken to be my specialty. Music is also important to me and I’m a lifelong blues harmonica player.
