Since the beginning of the annual Youth for Christ Banquet Fundraiser, November was always the month in which it was held. In 2020, as the Coronavirus Pandemic spread throughout the world, larger gatherings were highly discouraged and even prohibited in some cases. At this time, Youth for Christ wanted to incorporate smaller gatherings called “See the Story”, where individuals could simply learn more about the ministry of YFC in a smaller, informal setting. So, for the next couple of years, instead of the typical “Report to the People and Fundraising Banquet”, we held smaller “See the Story” gatherings.
Since these gatherings took the place of the fall banquet in 2020 and 2021, it seemed natural to re-start the larger banquet fundraiser in the spring. At this time our national office had re-named the larger banquets “Be the Story”. So, we held “See the Story” gatherings in the fall and the “Be the Story” banquet in the spring. The purpose of “Be the Story” is more of a call to action.
After some evaluation, we have decided to move “Be the Story” back to November. Since we just held the annual “Be the Story” events this past spring, we have decided to just hold one “Be the Story” evening banquet on November 19th this year and then the next “Be the Story” events will be November of 2027. As for the “See the Story” gatherings, the plan is to scatter them throughout the year.
