“Be The Story”… What?

For the longest time, I knew I would be getting a call in late September/ early October from a YFC staff person asking if I would like to host a table for the annual November “Report to the People and Fundraising Banquet” When the world shut down due to the Coronavirus, so did YFC’s annual November banquet; however, the following year we attempted smaller gatherings called “See the Story”. See the Story was a newer model of sharing YFC’s mission in a smaller setting created by the National Service Center. The NSC also created a new model for larger gatherings that are similar to our past banquets called “Be the Story” events.

The YFCMV team gradually adopted the idea of the “See the Story” and “Be the Story” gatherings and events, and while many of us have fond memories of the large banquets from long ago, it was time for a change. With that change, we continue to evaluate how these events can be most effective in furthering the mission of Youth for Christ so that more young people in our communities can know Jesus Christ.

March 27th and 28th of this year, YFCMV will host its 3rd annual “Be the Story” events. Last year’s addition of the “Be the Story” lunch option was successful, so we are bringing that back again this year. We are also adding a Friday evening Comedy Cafe with the comedy of David Dean, who was transformed through the ministry of YFC as a young person.

These events will all take place in the Darke County D.D. event room, which they so graciously allow us to use free of charge. This beautiful space will hold approximately 150 people per gathering, so please reserve your table/ seat at your earliest convenience to ensure a spot.

At these free events, you will enjoy delicious food and will get to hear a brief highlight of what is happening in the lives of students, ministry leaders, donors and others impacted by YFC’s mission. You will hear about the vision of YFC’s future and be invited to partner with us as we share the love and hope of Jesus Christ with this generation of students. And for those who attend Friday night, you’ll have the added benefit of laughter as you enjoy the comedy cafe with David Dean.

To sign up to reserve a table or to make an individual reservation, you can call the Youth for Christ office at 937-548-2477, send an email to: office@yfcmiamivalley.org, or make a reservation on our website at: yfcmv.org/events/bethestory. Reservations are required by March 20th.

Both the banquet and lunch events combined are crucial in helping meet the goal of raising funds, engaging new volunteers and enlisting prayer warriors so that, together, we can effectively move the mission forward. Consider BEing a part of THE STORY of young people who need hope. We hope to see you there!
