“Youth for Christ, the organization, is not the answer to their (teens’) struggles.
Jesus Christ is. But if God will use Youth for Christ to help them know Jesus, then let’s all get in on this.” This was the conclusion of the visionary message at the YFC Be the Story events Thursday and Friday, March 27th and 28th.
If you missed “Be the Story” this year, each of the three events offered a unique atmosphere from comedy to banquet style to a quick lunch break. Each event was well attended with several new to Youth for Christ, and the beautiful Birchwood Room venue did not disappoint.
The fundraising goal of the combined events was $45,000. The total raised so far is just over $30,000, approximately ⅔ coming from new or former giving partners. There were also so many great connections made at the events. We’ve gained at least 6 additional volunteers, 20 prayer partners and 12 new Give
Life 360 teammates.
As always, we had the privilege of hearing from many who have been impacted by the ministry of Youth for Christ, from students to alumni. We had the opportunity to hear about distinguishing characteristics of the current generations of young people with whom our ministry leaders are working. We listened to the reasons for their need of trusted adults who can help them find their way in life and faith. On Friday night, new this year, we enjoyed the comedy of David Dean at the Comedy Cafe. The chance to laugh together was so uplifting!
Overall, the Be the story events were a success! We’re so grateful for all who were able to participate and for those who sensed a nudge to BE a part of the story of the young people in our communities! It’s not too late to “get in on this”!
