Meet Olivia Wilson – YFCMV’s Newest Site Leader

January 30, 2025

story

As a recent graduate, I was stepping out of a familiar season with no idea of what things might look like next. I spent time in prayer with God just asking for guidance in this next season, having no idea of where He was going to lead me. A position at Youth for Christ of the Miami Valley opened up, and it all just felt right. I had a sense of unexplainable peace which could have only been the Lord. I interviewed, and was invited to take the position of Site Leader in Preble County. I accepted and have been on board for about three months now with my focus on Eaton schools. I’ve loved walking this wonderful opportunity out so far.

“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 NLT

I’ve always had a heart to share God’s good love with the younger generation. And it all stems from the love I first felt as a middle school student. Jesus’ love met me at that time and I just want others to experience that love I felt, too. A love that was so beyond any love you can experience here on earth. As a middle school student I had the wonderful opportunity to be connected to a church and youth group, and because of that I had a wonderful

community building me up and pointing me to Christ. But not all students have a supportive and loving church community to help encourage and love them; some may not even have a supportive and loving family. So I love that YFC goes right to the students. Showing students that they are loved right where they are now!

The hope and vision for Preble County is that YFC can be a support for every community and school system in the county. I am the first additional staff person to be hired in Preble, thanks to the Ministry Expansion Fund Matching Challenge. This generation of teenagers is dealing with mental health struggles like never before, but are also more open to hearing about the hope of Jesus, unlike recent generations. We want to be present and in the right place at the right time to help every student possible.

I am excited to share the news of this new opportunity in my life with you all and I look forward to giving updates on how God is moving through this ministry He has called me to.
