In June, Youth for Christ took several 
teenagers to Peru on an international mission trip! For nine days, their team served in various capacities doing direct evangelism with families, door to door service, and vacation Bible School with kids with a Father’s Day program as well. It was amazing to see the growth in our teens as most had never been on a mission trip like that. Watching them stretch their faith, pray for strangers, and boldly declare the Gospel was inspiring!

One of the biggest highlights
from my mission trip to Peru was getting to connect with people who, despite having so little, showed so much joy and gratitude in their daily lives. It was a wake-up call for me and made me realize just how much I take for granted back home. Being in a completely different environment, away from the routines and distractions of my everyday life, gave me the opportunity to truly lock in with God and refocus on what matters. God challenged me to stop coasting in my faith and to be more intentional about my relationship with Him. Seeing how the people we served worshiped so genuinely, regardless of their circumstances, reminded me how blessed I am and how important it is to be grateful. I left Peru with a renewed hunger to pursue God wholeheartedly and to live out my faith in a way that impacts the people around me.

My mission trip to Peru was a
life-changing experience that I will never forget. It was such a blessing to get to know the people and share the love of God with them. The excitement and joy with which they received the Gospel was so encouraging to me. They were so full of hope that I was connected to my own reception of the Gospel. I realized in my own life a lack of fervor and joy that should come from the incredible gift of communing with God. This trip offered me the wonderful gift of perspective. As I saw these people overflow with joy at the idea of a Savior, I’m reminded that that same Savior walks with me. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness!
The Peru mission trip was one that inspired change and conviction. Full of heart, adventure and God’s leading. Youth for Christ is blessed to be able to take students on life-altering trips like this and we are thankful to all of our YFC supporters and prayer partners as we strive to create space and opportunity for students to grow in their journey with Jesus.
