YFC’s second annual Summerfest is in the books. While we faced challenges with heat and a downpour toward the end of the event, we were still successful and managed to raise $26,300 to benefit the ministry, exceeded our fundraising goal and even raised more than the previous year!
Several teams participated in the “Toss for Teens” Cornhole tournament, raising funds to help with the mission of Youth for Christ. Proceeds from the carnival games and the flush bucket also helped contribute to us exceeding our goal.
Guests enjoyed live music from Zeke Wright and the Hindsight and a few songs from 3 Day Weekend before the rain hit. Those attending also enjoyed some delicious food from the food trucks who set up in the side parking lot of the Ministry Center.
We are thankful for the success of Summerfest despite the weather challenges. We are also already thinking ahead to next year and plan to move Summerfest up to the month of June in hopes of dodging the late summer heat. Since our golf tournament is usually held in June, it will be moved to August.
Thank you to all who made Summerfest a success, from those who sponsored the event in some way to those who provided carnival games and those who volunteered to those who “Tossed for Teens” and everyone in between! We look forward to seeing you next year in June!
